CADL Receives Award at UB’s 2026 Art of Research Competition
The University at Buffalo’s Art of Research competition celebrates the exceptional work of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars through original images that capture the beauty, creativity, and impact of research. The annual competition highlights research across disciplines while making complex scholarly work accessible to broader public audiences.
Our lab was honored with the Collaboration, Teamwork, and Community Impact Award at the 2026 competition, which recognizes research partnerships that work closely with community members to create meaningful benefits and lasting impact.
Lab members Antara Satchidanand, PhD, CCC-SLP, and Manohar Golleru, MS, presented a photograph featuring Jeff Higginbotham and his longtime collaborator Todd Hutchinson developing an AI-enhanced speech-generating device. Their work reflects a shared commitment to advancing assistive technology while ensuring that human connection remains at the center of communication design.
The award highlights CADL’s ongoing dedication to collaborative, community-engaged research that improves communication access and quality of life for individuals who rely on assistive technologies.
